Gabriel Maracle
Gabriel Karenhoton Maracle is Kanien'kehá:ka and like his father, is a citizen of the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. His mother is non-Indigenous and from southern Ontario. Gabriel was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He holds a Ph.D. in Indigenous Studies from the Chanie Wenjack School for Indigenous Studies at Trent University, with a dissertation on the Haudenosaunee's understandings of healing and masculinity. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Carleton University in Ottawa. His research focuses on Indigenous governance, urban Indigenous issues, and Indigenous-led housing initiatives.
