Picture of Miranda Field

Miranda Field

Dr. Miranda Field is a health systems researcher living and working within Treaty 4 Territory, with roots in Treaty 2. Her work focuses on the intersection of healing and learning, specializing in youth mental health, Indigenous wellness, and implementation science. As a CIHR-IHSPR Health System Impact Fellow [depending on publication date, this may change] embedded within the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the University of Regina, she collaborates with Indigenous communities to enhance mental health, addictions, and well-being supports. With over 20 years of experience in education and mental health, her research translates knowledge into practice, bridging policy and community-led solutions to improve health and education systems. Miranda is a non-Indigenous researcher who has worked under and alongside First Nations scholars, First Nations and Métis communities, and Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Old Ones for the past 13 years in academia. With over 20 years of experience teaching and supporting mental health care for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit children, youth, and families, her work is grounded in relational accountability and community-driven approaches. She remains committed to ethical and reciprocal partnerships that support Indigenous-led health and education initiatives.
