Bobbie Jo Greenland-Morgan and Jordan Peterson
Bobbie Jo Greenland-Morgan is Grand Chief of the Gwich'in Tribal Council. Born in Inuvik and raised in Aklavik, Bobbie Jo has mixed ancestry including Gwich’in, Dene, Inuvialuit and Scottish. She identifies closely with her Gwich’in roots which includes Ehdiitat, Vuntut, Gwichya and Tetlit Gwich’in. Prior to being elected Grand Chief, Bobbie-Jo served in Government of the Northwest Territories, the Beaufort-Delta Education Council, the Gwich’in Renewable Resource Board, the Mackenzie Gas Project, the Yukon Government and an elected council member in the Hamlet of Aklavik.
Jordan Peterson is the Deputy Chief of the Gwich'in Tribal Council. Jordan was raised in Aklavik by parents Terry and William Peterson. His maternal (Mothers) grandparents are Astrid and James McDonald and paternal (Fathers) grandparents are Mable and Frederick Peterson. Prior to his role as Deputy Chief, Jordan was the Gwich’in Tribal Council's Community Development Officer, a Co-Chair for Our Voices (an Indigenous emerging leaders collective), and a 2017 Jane Glassco Fellow.
