Join Shanna Peltier and Yotakahron Jonathan for an episode of the Heartberry Podcast where they discuss the impacts of COVID-19 on their communities (Wikwemikoong First Nation and Six Nations of the Grand River Territory, respectively) and on themselves, personally.
Shanna and Yotakahron reflect on the policies that have been implemented in their communities, the wide-ranging impact COVID has had on their daily lives, families and relationships, and their experiences with the “trajectory of coping”. As students, the pandemic has especially been stressful, requiring adjustments to what learning and doing school means during this time. Listen to the end for self-care tips (i.e. scary stories, trading baked goods with community members, and just taking it day by day).
This podcast was produced as part of Yellowhead’s 2020 Call for Collaboration, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic with support from the Inspirit Foundation.
