Yellowhead North

From our research to education programs, and from Denendeh to Inuit Nunangat, the North has always been a part of our work. Yellowhead North aims to amplify the writers, activists, researchers and artists who advocate for the reclamation of Indigenous land and life -- and the unique dimensions of that campaign.

YELLLOWHEAD NORTH BRIEFS

Our humanity is connected to nature and our relationship is one of reciprocity: it gives what it receives, we receive what we give.

Government of Nunavut x Indigenous Governance Program Partnership

After a two-year collaboration with Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. on an Iqaluit-based version of Yellowhead’s Indigenous Governance Program, the Government of Nunavut (GN) has taken over the partnership.

Staring in January 2026, Yellowhead Institute, the First Nation Technical Institute, and the Government of Nunavut will be working together to offer this program for GN’s Inuit employees as well as staff of Inuit organizations. If you are interested in registering for the program or want more information, please write to info@yellowheadinstitute.org.
