COMING SOON!

Land Back Online Course

Since releasing our inaugural Red Paper, Land Back, in October 2019, the interest and support has been tremendous. Land Back has been downloaded tens of thousands of times, and engagement with the content remains steady.

The report has become an intellectual keystone in the Land Back movement. Building on this reception and ongoing interest, Yellowhead will release an online course version of the Land Back Red Paper.

This course will be a dynamic, community-focused approach that guides students through a self-directed learning experience loosely structured on the Land Back report.

Students will learn about the denial of Indigenous self-determination but also the concept of consent and now it can be coerced, negotiated, or enforced. More, the course offers tangible examples of Indigenous-led strategies of consent-based jurisdiction. The key themes and concepts are further contextualized and brought to life by curated resources featured throughout.

This project is part of Yellowhead’s commitment to producing community-focused accessible tools and resources, and our expanding focus on public education. We look forward to sharing more details soon.

Stay tuned!
